Alimondo Ciampi Foundation

Preserving a legacy, supporting the future

The Alimondo Ciampi Foundation was established in 1994 by Giotto Ciampi, the eldest son of the sculptor, with the aim of honoring his father’s memory and turning his artistic legacy into a concrete commitment to future generations.

Alimondo Ciampi, born in San Mauro a Signa in 1876, was one of the leading figures of twentieth-century Tuscan figurative sculpture. The Foundation was born from the bond between his work, his family and the territory of Signa, with the purpose of preserving this memory and keeping it alive through cultural and educational initiatives.

Our mission

The Foundation promotes and supports artistic talent, with particular attention to young people who choose to dedicate their path to the visual arts and music.

Through scholarships, collaborations and cultural initiatives, the Foundation aims to:

  • enhance the artistic and cultural legacy of Alimondo Ciampi;
  • support young artists in their training and specialization;
  • encourage the growth of contemporary artistic research;
  • strengthen the connection between art, territory and community;
  • promote culture as an opportunity for growth and sharing.
Preserving the memory of Alimondo Ciampi also means offering new opportunities to those who choose today to dedicate their talent to art.

Scholarships and support for artists

Since its creation, the Foundation has supported young artists through financial contributions and scholarships.

Over the years, recipients of this support have continued their artistic paths in different fields: painting, sculpture, music and conducting, developing their artistic research also in international contexts.

Each year, the Foundation Board meets to evaluate the applications received and identify the most appropriate forms of support.

Applications may be submitted:

  • through teachers or mentors following the student’s artistic path;
  • directly by artists through self-application.

Each request is assessed on the basis of the applicant’s curriculum, previous artistic path and submitted documentation.

The Foundation Board

The Foundation is governed by a Board strongly connected to the Ciampi family and to the territory of Signa.

Its current members are:

  • Daniele Ciampi, President
  • Niccoletta Ciampi
  • Leonardo Ciampi
  • Giampiero Fossi, Mayor pro tempore of the Municipality of Signa
  • Don Matteo Ambu, Parish Priest pro tempore of the Parish of Signa

This composition reflects the deep bond between the Foundation, the Ciampi family and the community in which Alimondo was born and lived.
